Dark Traffic is a crime thriller by R.A. Van Vleet. Ian Martin is a retired DEA agent and has a private security agency in Ventura. Ian and Ashley meet when she reverses her vehicle into his. Ashley wants to divorce her billionaire husband, but she can only claim half of his assets after the divorce. Ashley moves into one of her husband's properties, and there is an attempt on her life. Ian provides security for Ashley after the attack. This is only the first of many attempts to kill them. Ashley meets the woman her husband is having an affair with. She is one of the victims of a sex trafficking network. With her help, Ian and Ashley aim to find out who is behind the attacks on them and bring the organization down.

Dark Traffic by R.A. Van Vleet is fast-paced and complicated. The events are vividly portrayed, and it was disturbing to read how the victims were treated and what they had to endure. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and I never knew what to expect next. The characters were well-developed and they were authentic and relatable. The story is well-written and based on actual events relating to a sex trafficking organization. Van Vleet described the incidents as they occurred and did not shy away from the truth or try to cover it up. The major twist at the end was a huge surprise and I did not see it coming. The book exceeded my expectations by far.
