Life can be so cruel at times. When a person's self-image is slowly picked away piece by piece, certain emotions and events occur. In Dear Nobody by Robin Williams, this compilation of poems will take you on an emotional journey of self-discovery and will challenge you to look at the effects of trauma and abuse. Subjects covered are relationship abuse, self-abuse and the results of a person living a life of self-limiting belief. The poems will speak to you like no other poetry you have read. Are you in a destructive relationship, but still yearn to have that person in your life? Do you suffer from emotional pain and feel neglected because of the choices you have made, or the people that surround you? Maybe you are bruised internally and feel like surrendering to the pain and negativity? These poems will trigger deep self-enlightenment to the dangers of hurtful words and actions towards others. Sometimes the villains and monsters that cause us the most pain are the ones closest to us.
Dear Nobody by Robin Williams is a truly thought-provoking collection of poems that reach into your soul and look at the unthinkable subjects in a unique way. Robin speaks to every tortured soul, and uncovers true emotions linked to subjects such as heartbreak, low self-esteem, and the effects of a person being subjected to years of negativity. She understands the true feelings of worthlessness and the sense that we have lost all power in our lives. These poems will touch your heart like no others and will change the way you see people in distress and emotional turmoil. There were many sections of the book that resonated with me including, ‘Life after death, reborn from the remnants of a body that fought for their life and yet still lost to its mind’. Some of the poems hit me like a thunderbolt such as, ‘But I must warn you, if you choose to be the very hero that they seek, prepare yourself for a battle you don't see on the bookshelf, because this villain is the kind that lies within oneself’. This collection is for anyone who needs writing to challenge their though processes and help them make positive changes to their outlook on the world. Highly recommended.
