Delay of Game by Vernon C Stewart explains the lyrics of the songs from the album of the same name. The book covers topics on Christian living and Vernon C Stewart's life experiences. The first song is Represent 4 Dat, an anthem for believers to always represent God wherever they go. Bad Hand relates to Job from the Bible and having faith in God during bad times. Searchin’ is about the times when Vernon was a lost soul. Ride 4 You and Give it Up are praise songs, thanking God for the good he has done in his life. God 1st, Go Hard is based on Matthew 6:33, and it talks about putting God first in your life. He further gives an interesting reference to gas stations. My favorite song is Tha’ Legacy, a father's dedication to his sons. Vernon also discusses his relationship with his parents. Find out about these songs and more in Delay of Game by Vernon C Stewart.

I applaud Vernon C Stewart for putting this book together. Delay of Game has a clear message of redemption and love. It provides a Biblical explanation for his songs. This is something rarely done by musicians. Giving a clear and inspirational guide to his songs is considerate to his fan and listeners. It shows love for his craft and the importance he puts into spreading the message of the gospel. He flawlessly combines Bible verses, song lyrics, and his testimonies into a sermon for every chapter. His life story provides a deeper meaning and inspiration for each song's background. I watched and listened to Trip-C Tha' Block Bishop's songs on YouTube, and I loved how he connected the hood life and its hardships with Christianity. This was a well-written book.
