Donum by Tracey Alexandria Lynch explains a simple gifting philosophy to save our planet and future generations. Sustainable gifting is required for our present age: mindless buying and giving lead to the accumulation of trash on the earth. To tackle the problems associated with this proliferation and its negative impacts on global climate, the author has come up with numerous solutions in this concise and fact-based read. It also sheds light on the human psychology behind gifting, giving readers practical steps to follow to become considerate, accountable, and talented gift-givers.

Donum means gift in Latin. This short title aptly projects the intention of the book. The topic of gift-giving sounds unimportant, but the way it is presented here adds great significance to this simple act. The writing style and the concepts addressed by the author show her awareness and genuine concern for the planet. She has included facts, figures, flowcharts, and quotes from important personalities like Greta Thunberg (environmental activist) and Leonardo DiCaprio (renowned actor). The human psychology behind gifting has also been addressed. Additionally, it includes a list of various gifting ideas, which will come in handy, especially during the holiday season.

Information about the Donum application has been supplied which aims to simultaneously simplify the gifting experience and reduce the trash created by returned consumer products. The emphasis is that we do not have to do everything, but we all need to do something. Overall, it was an enlightening reading experience, and I highly recommend Donum by Tracey Alexandria Lynch. Sustainable gifting is not as difficult as we might think, and the author has made it easier with this gift guide.
