Drowning with My Hair on Fire: Insanity Relief for Adoptive Parents by Ce Eshelman Lmft is a helpful book for adoptive parents who do not know how to handle adopted children and need some advice to do it right. The book helps parents and those adopted children accept love, give love, and feel love. Written as letters, each letter stands on its own and the book can be read from any page for advice, information, and inspiration to all parents who are raising adopted children from difficult beginnings. The author handles the topic extensively and methodically, making it an engaging and worthy read.

The author's journey of becoming an attachment therapist and champion of adoptive parents is insightful and encouraging. It can be used as a guide in groups and societies where parents are trying to handle a complex, attachment-challenged, traumatized, and special needs child. The most important healing factor in a traumatized child's life is their adoptive parents, who should give them the maximum support to growth and confidence. This book gives good guidance on how to go about it. It is filled with information and the knowledge shared will stimulate the empathy and patience of readers.
