Eat Meat Without Feet: 165 Healthy Pescatarian Meals Featuring Seafood and Vegetarian Proteins is a work of non-fiction in the cookery and nutrition subgenres. It is suitable for all readers and was penned by Carrie Shapley to showcase her flair and talent for inventive fish dishes that boost protein and cut carbs. An ideal primer for changing one’s eating habits in the new year, or at any time really, the work offers beautifully presented recipes utilizing the best fish, seafood, and plant-based nutrition to boost your metabolism and general health. The work is gorgeously presented with a series of bright and enticing photographs, with the recipes presented using the U.S. volume measurement system.

As a vegan, I might have thought this book wouldn’t have much for me, but I was delighted from the moment I opened the vibrant contents page and spotted so much plant-based goodness in the bold, enticing print. Carrie Shapley has a real knack for developing recipes that are light and easy to eat, shifting away from carb-heavy, energy-draining dinners to recipes that fill you with energy and nutrition. A few personal favorites included the ‘bacon’ onion rings, the mighty 'swellington wellington', and pretty much everything on the dry rubs and seasonings menu. Even the non-vegan recipes would be so easy to adapt with milk and meat alternatives. I’d certainly recommend Eat Meat Without Feet to anyone who is looking to cut down on or cut out meat entirely, and for pescatarians, vegetarians, and vegans seeking new ideas and lighter twists on their favorites.

Are you a pescatarian? Do you know what that means? Carrie Shapley explains in Eat Meat Without Feet: 165 Healthy Pescatarian Meals Featuring Seafood and Vegetarian Proteins. Well, it’s not vegetarian as such, but it is a label one can apply to someone who chooses to eat pescatarian meals, that is food without feet. It’s healthy, delicious, high in protein, and low in carbs. What more do you need for a healthy diet? Replacing your diet with feet-less meat, like seafood, and adding vegetarian delights, you will definitely “reap the health benefits of both a plant-based diet and a diet rich in omega-3 oils.” It also avoids all the cholesterol that plagues so many of our bodies. A well-balanced diet without the heavy additives of red meat is a great combination.

Carrie Shapley’s book Eat Meat Without Feet is a great resource for healthier eating. The author introduces her journey to discovering the perfect pescatarian diet. This adds a personal touch to the book. The recipes are beautifully illustrated with color photographs of the prepared food. The author provides some background to each recipe, usually something from her own experience. The list of ingredients is orderly and the directions for preparation are clear and precise. The recipes are organized into categories, including sections on pizza, burgers and wraps, shellfish entrees, vegetarian entrees, and many more. The recipes are intriguing, from their titles to their presentation. I’m particularly fascinated by the nut burger and the lobster mac-n-cheese. I’ll have to try those two and more. A fascinating study and an inspiring read.

Nowadays, people are increasingly leaving animal-related meat products out of their diet. A pescatarian diet provides the right balance between the various nutrients our body needs to sustain itself. Rich in lean protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids, a pescatarian dietary routine is the best way to attain a healthy lifestyle without compromising our taste buds. Eat Meat Without Feet: 165 Healthy Pescatarian Meals Featuring Seafood and Vegetarian Proteins by Carrie Shapley is a recipe book with appetizing meals that include seafood and vegetarian proteins to take care of all of your dietary needs. Shapley adds her ingenious touch to many of the classic recipes while bringing a collection of fresh meals to enchant all food lovers. These tasty delights include dishes such as breakfast burritos, crab-deviled eggs, fried fish sandwiches, a variety of soups, stews, chilies, salads, and much more.

Not everyone is an experienced cook. The best part about Eat Meat Without Feet is that the meals in this book can be made by both novices and experienced chefs alike. Carrie Shapley offers readers some mouth-watering recipes containing low-carb, high-protein, and fiber meals that are not only delicious to eat but also healthy and nutritious. Shapley provides an excerpt on the unique qualities of each dish at the beginning and then meticulously lists all the ingredients and instructions on how to prepare it. This cookbook contains recipes whose ingredients are generally available and can be enjoyed in everyday life. I found the book to be helpful, informative, and a treat for all food lovers.
