Embrace the Passion in a Lover’s Dream is a book of poems by Paul Turay. The high note of the collection is found in his poem “When You Know It’s Real.” This book is a collection of Paul’s love poems. The poetry will take time to digest. Is his love spurned or returned? As you read, you will learn how he truly feels about the one he loves. It is easy to see love through the lines of each poem. The desire to become one instead of two is mentioned more than once. Each poem seeks unification with the one loved. Paul expresses his emotions for all to see. His desire becomes plain as one reads each poem. He has kept this book very short, so it is an easy read. I feel there is the pain of unrequited love coming through.

Paul Turay’s poems concern his love for the one that seems unattainable. According to the author’s information, Paul was inspired to write poetry after reading Edgar Allan Poe’s “Raven” as a young boy. Therefore, his writing style is faintly reminiscent of Poe. His style is simple and rhyming. While men often hide their emotions, Paul has exposed his deepest emotions for the world to see. He shares his desires and thoughts. Paul is open and feels the freedom to express his love. While some of the poems will take some thinking to understand, most people who have loved from afar will understand Paul’s sentiment. Will Paul finally realize his love come true, or will he always live pining for the unreachable?
