Encore: The Show Must Go On by Zane Pinner is a short horror story. Robin had a great job, working and living at the Majestic Cinema, a theater that he hoped to own one day. He thought he knew the place inside out but he’s about to learn that some things should best be kept hidden. He brushed off the odd noises and sightings as tricks of the mind. After all, what theater isn’t haunted? He is about to find out the hard way that when you ignore all the warning signs, things just get worse. When he and his friends become trapped in the theater, they discover it’s not a normal haunting – these ghosts want blood. There is a debt that needs to be paid and the ghosts are calling it in. Will Robin and his friends pay the price or can they get out before the theater consumes them?

Encore by Zane Pinner is not a story for either the fainthearted or younger readers. This isn’t just your standard haunted theater story, it is so much more. It’s a gripping account that will send shivers down your spine with every page. The story builds suspense with a terrifying tale of the past colliding with the present in chilling terror. It will have you wide-eyed and unable to put it down until the end. While it is a frightening story, it isn’t a gore-filled blood-fest. It combines horror and psychological trauma with some well-developed characters – alive and dead. A bit of romance thrown in sweetens the deal a little but this story will stay with you for a while after you finish reading; you may not want to be in a darkened theater again! It is a great story, and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more from this author; he knows how to grab your attention and hold it.
