Lucie is almost 67 years old. But age is just a number, as Lucie lives life to the fullest. She lives in legendary Stratford-upon-Avon and is, of course, an avid theater lover. Lucie is good at cooking and loves to share delicious food with those she holds dear, but Richard, her current boyfriend, is not that keen on sharing. He hurts Lucie's feelings too often and even sees another woman. He breaks Lucie's heart as he is too self-absorbed. She meets another man and begins a dazzling love affair with him. The sun shines brightly for Lucie, but fate has other plans. Lucie gets a devastating diagnosis. She has breast cancer that had previously taken her mother's life. Lucie was determined to give cancer a good fight. Enough Really is Enough by Vivien Heim is a brilliant non-fictional account that will reach your deepest emotional level.

Vivien Heim is a great writer and Enough Really is Enough is a mesmerizing read. The author managed to maintain a perfect balance. Some scenes are heart-wrenching, and some will make you blush, but the book remains brutally honest. Lucie is a wonderful character who pours her heart out to the attentive and sympathetic reader. The story is about gaining self-confidence and achieving inner growth. Lucie was afraid to be alone after losing her beloved husband. I believe that many of us walk in her shoes. This brings Lucie closer to our hearts, making her a friend - one of us. Lucie is good-natured and is always ready to offer a helping hand. This combination of qualities makes her an ideal role model. Vivien Heim crafts characters with amazing precision, using just a couple of strokes to make them distinctive and very special. I recommend this book to fans of non-fiction and memoir genres.
