Eventually They All Fall is a work of fiction in the fantasy and adventure subgenres. It is aimed at young adult readers and was penned by Jenna Marcus. The book follows Domino Garrison, a teenager who works at a bookstore and can view other people’s deepest desires. This is a power that he believes to be useless until its full potential starts to manifest when Domino starts pulling things from people's fantasies into the real world. The new development comes at a cost as it inflicts great pain in the process, but with the fate of the world suddenly at stake can Domino afford not to use it?

I adored the world-building on show in this book as Domino’s powers are established and then developed and elaborated upon as the story moves forward. Jenna Marcus paints a detailed picture of not only the kid and his powers but also the effect that these have on him. Domino’s characterization is excellent throughout the story and, most importantly, it is evolving as the events in the narrative unfold and provoke growth and change while Domino develops in a fascinating and well-considered arc. I particularly enjoyed the threat which escalates at a perfect pace, starting as an almost intangible menace that grows and becomes more real as the story continues. Eventually They All Fall is an excellent work of fantasy that uses the trappings of superpowers and fantastical threats to our world to tell a quintessential coming-of-age story about a troubled young man.
