Fallen Revenge: A Paranormal Urban Fantasy by Justin Brimhall tells the story of Randy Newborn, a cop with a lot of anger issues. He has always favored his job over his family and paid the price. What he doesn't know is that while he thinks he is living a normal life, he is actually a pawn in a much larger game. Gadreel, the brother of Lucifer, is using him to wage a war on Heaven. Randy soon finds himself dragged into a world he knows nothing about.

Justin Brimhall has written an intriguing story with Fallen Revenge. There are many religious themes in the book, but the story mainly focuses on Randy. He has led a hard life. His mother used to beat him as a child and he still carries all that anger and resentment around in him. He often takes that anger out on suspects, which could cost him his job. When all the events kick off, he loses what little he has left and the weight of the world is literally on his shoulders. The story moved at a good pace and it kept me reading. It had a bit of a supernatural vibe to it with all the different demons and angels. The characters were well developed and you do root for Randy as the reader, even though he's not the nicest person in the world. He has done a lot of questionable things, but when you understand his role in everything, you start to understand him more. I think this would appeal to urban fantasy and paranormal fantasy fans. I would recommend it.
