Author Biography

Hello, my name is Natalya! I am a 15 year old author. I live in the UK and I want to go to university to become a radiologist. I have written this book because I wanted to become an author and share an amazing story with the world. Tui T. Sutherland's famous Wings Of Fire book series and my past writing club were the two main things which inspired me to write this book. I also have a YouTube channel called Natalya V. D. Brock.

Fire Breath: The Golden Promise by Natalya V. D. Brock is a gorgeous treat for fans of epic fantasy and readers who enjoy mythical creatures as characters. This story gave me the same effect I had while reading Christopher Paolini’s The Inheritance Cycle. According to the Golden Promise, the four dragonets of peace that Acorn has been raising are the only hope of defeating the evil dragons, Mamba and Magenta. But things go horribly wrong when they are kidnapped from their treehouse and imprisoned in the dungeons of Secretscales Camp, under awful conditions. They are forced to free someone they thought was a friend and experience betrayal. Conflict escalates when Moonstone disappears. Can they live up to the hope of the promise when everything seem to be going wrong?

Natalya V. D. Brock takes young readers on a spellbinding adventure, taking them to exotic places and making them witnesses to dragon fire and the fiery conflict between good and evil. The characters are infused with human sentiments and they come across as great companions in the fight against evil. The sense of pathos is strong in this narrative and readers will become engrossed in the story right away, wanting to know what happens to Acorn and the dragonets. Fire Breath: The Golden Promise is well written, featuring strong plot points and an imaginative setting. The prose is elegant and the action pulsating. This is a novel with a strong appeal for young readers and fans of epic fantasy; it is balanced and filled with breathtaking action.

Fire Breath: The Golden Promise by Natalya V. D. Brock is an epic fantasy for children that explores the primordial conflict between good and evil, a tale about dragons and the clash of darkness and light. Acorn has been entrusted with the eggs of the dragons of peace and for many years he’s watched over them, waiting for them to hatch. His ultimate goal: to defeat the two evil dragons, Mamba and Magenta. When the dragonets hatch, things change dramatically, taking a turn no one ever envisaged. They are kidnapped from their treehouse and locked in the Secretscales’ Camp where they are forced to free a friend. But this friend isn’t what they think he is. Things escalate when Moonstone, one of the first-born of the dragons of peace, goes missing.

Cerythia is a beautifully imagined and skillfully crafted fantasy world, a setting with features that are similar to our real world, and one that young fans of fantasy will enjoy. Readers will enjoy the adventure, the dragon flights, the exhilarating action and the narrow escapes as well as the well-developed conflict. Natalya V. D. Brock invests the characters and the mythical creatures with human qualities. The personification is so superbly done that it brings the characters closer to humans. While this is a fantasy, it doesn’t fail to include realism akin to the human experience of evil. Fire Breath: The Golden Promise has a strong premise, one that determines the strength and magnitude of the conflict, with well-developed and fascinating characters. A delight to read.

Fire Breath: The Golden Promise by Natalya V.D. Brock is a marvelous fantasy adventure that begins with the hatching of four very special dragons, and Acorn, their guardian, teacher, and mentor. The dragons represent the four elements. They are born and given their names as they hatch; Moonstone the female Airling, Lotus the male Waterling, Firestorm the female Fireling, and Opal the female Darkling. It is Acorn's job to teach, guide, and help them to save the world by defeating the evil Mamba and Magenta. The dragonets grow into young adults and have been taught combat, magic, flying, and their family history that entrusted them to Acorn. Just as they have grown and the dragonets of Peace are nearing the end of their training, they are captured and made prisoners of Mamba and Magenta in the Secretscales camp.

Brock does an amazing job of telling this great adventure story. As the adventures happen, our heroes bond together with some new friends that help them to escape captivity. From there on, the action is nearly non-stop. As their popularity and numbers grow, the author does an outstanding job of enticing the reader on. The pages just start flying by. Fire Breath: The Golden Promise is an engrossing adventure with many surprises and humorous anecdotes as the dragonets' personalities and strengths combine with their ever-growing confidence while they tackle each problem at a near breakneck pace. Natalya V. D. Brock's writing style created clear cut vivid images and dialog that reminded me of some of the works of Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. I am looking forward to more from this extremely talented author. Brava!
