Author Biography

I have recently decided to spend my days in completing the Neuphobes series. It is a three book compilation that begins with my novel, From Whence They Came, is then accompanied by my latest work, Beyond Imagination, and is finally complemented by a piece containing two short stories that will "bookend" the other two works. I had started writing at the age of nineteen, and completed the first draft of my book by age twenty three. It since then remained shelved until roughly a year ago. I have since resumed writing and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future . . .

From Whence They Came by Thomas Zman is a science fiction novel that would appeal most to a mixed audience of young adults and adults who enjoy stories that have aliens involved in Earth’s history. Lieutenant Steve Coleman's and Captain Frank Tober’s lives are forever altered one day when they set out to pilot a test flight of the Stealth Drone Deployment Platform (SDDP-40), known as Valithor, to Bermuda. What should have been a simple test flight quickly goes wrong as the instruments on the Valithor begin to malfunction and then stop working completely. When ejection procedures failed, the two readied themselves for the worst when suddenly a yellow light rose from the waters of the Atlantic and pulled the Valithor in. Lieutenant Steve Coleman wakes up in pain, only to be welcomed by the alien Nayrb on behalf of the Sanctification to the city of Neuphobes. Did a simple test flight turn into an alien encounter or hallucinations?

From Whence They Came by Thomas Zman has a well-chosen cover image that clearly shows the existence of aliens in the novel and hinted at the idea of an alien city and human involvement. I enjoyed the way the author incorporated both humans and Phoebians (aliens) as characters as it made the aliens seem more real instead of keeping them as an abstract concept. I liked the fact that the book began with Lieutenant Steve Coleman waking up and going through his morning routine with his wife and children before the test flight as it made his character feel more real. It provided him with a background and allowed me to learn a bit about his personality. Overall, I have to say that I greatly enjoyed reading this novel and I was very impressed with how the author made it so unique and different from the typical alien fiction genre!
