Frostbitten by Heather Beck is a young adult fantasy about how love can come in all sizes and...shapes. Anastasia is seventeen when she's sent to Cedar Falls to live with her grandparents. She visited four years previously, and nothing has changed in the small, quiet town. Except there is a strange new boy in town named Frost. Anastasia is immediately attracted to him, even though everyone says to stay away from him. Because Frost has a deadly secret that is crazier than anything Anastasia could ever guess. It involves a supernatural legend that has cursed the town for many years. But could it possibly be true? And how does it affect Anastasia's love for Frost? All she wants is for them to be together, but will his secret force them apart forever? And what if his secret is dangerous and could potentially hurt Anastasia in the end? That is a risk Anastasia is willing to take, but is Frost?

This is a nicely written love story about a troubled teen who finds redemption in the one person everyone else thinks is bad. Frost has his issues and secrets, of course, but Anastasia is the one person who doesn't care and refuses to judge Frost based on those secrets. I think a lot of readers will relate to that premise, especially those who like romantic paranormal stories. I liked the setting of this story and how it all tied back into a supernatural curse, or haunting of the town, that started the whole stream of events leading Anastasia to exactly where she was at that moment in the story. Nice job.
