Author Biography

Officially . . . MK McClintock is a multiple award-winning author who has written several novels and short stories, including the popular "Montana Gallagher" series set in the 1880s, the "Crooked Creek" series set in post-Civil War Montana, and the highly-acclaimed "British Agent" novels set in Victorian England, Scotland, and Ireland. She created the multi-author "Whitcomb Springs" series, also set in post-Civil War Montana.

Unofficially . . . I allow my imagination freedom to wander at will. It has not and will not settle on one genre. Future stories will take me across more genres and new eras, and I can't wait to get there. You will come to know me through the words I write, and for an author, that is what truly matters.

Gallagher's Pride . . . It so happens that in this story you will meet my favorite character. Playing favorites with characters is akin to a parent choosing a favorite child, but Ethan's worth it. He's everything I love in a hero—down to his sometimes brooding and stubborn personality. Brenna is one tough Scottish lady, unafraid to embark on a journey not knowing what will be on the other side of the ocean. I couldn't have asked for a better partner for Ethan. I love the Gallagher family, so much so that I had to continue their stories and their journey. I do hope you enjoy spending time with them as much as I have.

In a fantastic start to a new series authored by MK McClintock, Gallagher’s Pride: Book One of the Gallagher Series is a great Western read with plenty of romance thrown in. In it, we find Ethan Gallagher, head of his family and living in the great state of Montana, dealing with all of the complications that go along with leading a headstrong family. Enter Brenna Cameron, a lovely Scottish lass who’s gone through tremendous loss, and is determined to find the last bit of family that she might have left. Determined and obstinate at times, Brenna’s got a mind of her own, and when she gets mixed up with the Gallaghers, sparks are bound to fly.

Gallagher’s Pride was a great and easy read. Most people would be able to finish it in one enjoyable evening, and the story is very satisfying. Author MK McClintock is a master at describing environments, and the details about Scotland and Montana will make you feel like you’ve just returned from a trip to both of those places. The characters of Brenna and Ethan leap off the page, and many of the minor characters are just as vividly drawn. Any reader who loves Westerns, romances, historical fiction or just a great read would love this book, and I am pleased to be able to very highly recommend it. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it certainly won’t be the last. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance!
