Themes of persistence, faith, justice, forgiveness, and wholeness are interspersed with biblical references. An inspiring story of hope and healing that’s badly needed amidst the desperation created by the epidemic of gun-related murders in the United States. Grant Me Justice is best for those who have been victims of heinous crimes, and for those who are concerned and want to know more about the aftereffects of a tragedy and a defective judicial system.

However, for the reader to fully understand who Felecia Marshall is, we need to see how childhood events shaped her and influenced how she raised her children. The author takes us on a journey starting with her childhood, through the shock and trauma of Lexi B's murder, and the trials of the defendants. But what stood out for me is the author's belief that God will work this horrible tragedy for her good.

Besides sharing with us her horror and grief over Lexi B's murder, Grant Me Justice also touches on the topics of domestic abuse, gun violence, alternate sexual relationships, and the inadequacies of the American criminal justice system. The fact that nobody informed Felecia Marshall about the dates of the hearings and how the court hearings focused on plea bargains for the defendants created in the author the conviction that the victims and the pain of their families don't matter. Even though she stood up in all three hearings and passionately shared her grief, it made no difference to the court proceedings. Felecia only found some closure after the last trial but still felt that Lexi B did not receive justice. It led her to start Grant Me Justice to give the victims a voice and a chance to tell their stories. Only then can healing begin.

The author's honesty connected me to her story and held my attention throughout. Grant Me Justice is a beautiful tribute from a loving mother whose worst nightmare became a reality.
