Holey Moley and the Darns of Many Colours is a gorgeous children's picture book. It's fun, engaging, and colorful. Barbara Hyslop's book is perfect for ages 2-6. The drawings are original, creative, and lovely. It follows Moley as he plays around freely, making holes in his red-striped jumper. Moley loves doing lots of things, but he isn't too careful. Thus, he ends up making many holes in his jumper. Luckily, his grandma is willing to mend each hole. But because moles don't see colors or shapes too well, his grandma darns the holes with green, yellow, blue, orange, and silver wool. Moley's jumper is multicolored, but he doesn't mind, as many other adventures await him.

Every little kid fascinated by moles should read Barbara Hyslop's book, Holey Moley and the Darns of Many Colours. The simple and easy-to-read language makes it suitable for early readers. It's a delightful read. The cute and child-friendly illustrations will leave young readers giggling. They will spot the color mistakes and the other small animals. This children's book is a wonderful way to teach little ones interesting facts about moles. It reminds us how important it is to fix things and not throw them away.
