Home By Christmas by Rory Church is a compelling tale of intrigue as only he can deliver. Special Agent Morgan Raush is leading a joint military mission into Taliban held territory. Russian spy Dmitry Rurik is cool and calculated in his determination to deliver the much needed supplies over the Khyber Pass and into Afghanistan his way. The journey is fraught with danger. Trust is in low supply. The flight taking them to the mountains and onto the treacherous footpaths to their destination is in danger of delay due to a massive snowstorm forecast to be bringing up to three feet of snow to the mountainous terrain. The question is, can they make it to their Uzbekian friends awaiting these urgent supplies, and can this dangerous trip be accomplished in the allotted time? Morgan is desperate to be home by Christmas. She promised her ailing father. Dmitry Rurik – forever mysterious - keeps his feelings and his family life under wraps. Ever the secretive Russian, he is a spy after all, but can he be trusted as a friend Morgan is unsure of his loyalty, but is undeterred in her role to deliver to the people of Uzbek. Having spent months fighting in Afghanistan, she is more than capable of handling this quiet Russian.

Rory Church has delivered another punchy, thrilling tale. These two high profile individuals try hard to remain indifferent to each other, but inevitably their walls begin to crumble. I love the characters and the wonderful flow in this book. There are no dull moments, only exciting reading, scary Taliban encounters, and other dangerous encounters that determine once and for all whose side Dmitry is on. I am not saying more, it would spoil this excellent book for new readers. All I will say is – read it, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
