Hope Prevails by Emily Stalder Johnson is Book 4 in the series about Dublin Caldwell. He and his wife Allie moved from Ohio to Montana about 10 years ago, searching for Dublin's Uncle Jimmy. They now live next door to Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Georgia. Uncle Jimmy's son is Elijah, who has been jealous of Dublin since Dublin and Allie arrived from Ohio. Elijah's jealousy and resulting anger become an issue with everyone in the family, not just with Dublin. The Caldwells now have a son, Simeon, who is 7 years old. Dublin's childhood friend, Sam, finds them and begins working in the blacksmith shop that belongs to Uncle Jimmy, where Dublin and Elijah also work. Two other people from Dublin's childhood show up: Uncle Carter Fallon, who is an adoptive uncle and an alcoholic, and Cole Jessup who followed Dublin and Allie from Ohio but lost them in Indiana and is out for revenge.

My favorite part of Hope Prevails by Emily Stalder Johnson is experiencing how someone who is evil and far from God can change 180 degrees from the path they were on. I like learning about the landscape of Montana. I love that through their trials Dublin and his family can continue due to their faith in God. I appreciated the thread of forgiveness that winds its way through these books. I like that Dublin found in Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Georgia a Christian family to be there for him and his own little family. I enjoyed the relationship between Dublin and Allie, which is loving and playful. If you have not read the other books, you will still be able to understand what is going on in this one.
