How The Ideals of America’s Founders Lead Us to Purposeful Living is an observational work based on American history, its principles and proposed ideals, and was penned by author Roger Fortin. Taking the unifying phrase ‘one for all and all for one’ as its central mantra, Fortin uses his skills as a professor of history to retell the initial history of the Founding Fathers and compare their hopeful ideals for their country to the state of modern-day America. Though it does appear that America has traveled some distance from those original ideas, the work is written with a tone of hope and a firm belief that peace and unity can be returned to the country by looking back to its past.

Author Roger Fortin writes with passion and enthusiasm on the topic of the Founding Fathers, truly capturing that original hope and shared dream which was supposed to be the basis of unified American living, its laws and constitutions in the future. The blending of self-help elements and advice for living sections is artfully done so as not to appear preachy but is offered in an inviting narration that makes readers feel that they can help themselves to these generous lessons from the past. The five central chapters take direct lessons from history, whilst subsequent sections focus on modern living and the general goal to eliminate divisions using wisdom rather than fear. Overall, How The Ideals of America’s Founders Lead Us to Purposeful Living delivers exactly what it promises, with quality and upbeat narration.
