Hunting Ground and Other Stories: Tales from a world where man and dinosaurs coexist by Will Svensen is a series of short stories that interconnect to describe Gondolend, a world that is almost the polar opposite of ours and allows man to coexist with dinosaurs. The different short stories start by building up the world and letting the reader get a good feel for this world that is the opposite of Earth. Then we learn that Samaraland is experiencing some strange twists in their lives. Something so strange that zoologist Gina isn't sure what it is. She thinks she is documenting these new and unknown predators as a scientific discovery, but there is something larger and darker at work in these tales than plain science.

I liked the setup of this book. Each individual story read as a tiny little scene and was set as its own little chapter. I especially liked that it gave the time periods, although some were "unknown" which made me feel like I was reading a history book rather than a piece of fiction (which was the idea, I think). Other readers will appreciate the fact that these stories all tie together and tell the history of this world. Very fresh and imaginative.

This book is touted as having "some the most accurate representations of dinosaurs" and that is an accurate statement. I love books that are educational as well as entertaining because, to me, learning is educational. So I really appreciate that lesson in science and biology and I think other readers will as well.
