An ancient sword, a portal to Eastern Europe, a goblin attack, and a Wendigo are but a few of the fun things the family of a vampire experience during the summer holiday in the exciting supernatural fantasy, Hunting Vampires for Fun and Profit (Vampire Innocent: Book 13) by Matthew Cox. When she was fifteen, Sarah Wright unexpectedly joined the ranks of the undead. As a vampire, she never ages or dies; she stays in the same form as the day she died. Because of her stasis, Sarah is not motivated to pursue a career but is willing to work with the older vampire who took her under his wing. Summer has just begun, and the Wright family is ready to enjoy it. This morning, Sophia is headed to camp, Sam is goblin hunting, and Sierra only wants to play games. When Sarah's "boss" requests that she recover an ancient sword, she grudgingly agrees. While retrieving the sword from a police officer, Sarah encounters a deadly evil that dates back to the fifteenth century. In the meantime, her family's typical activities take an ominous turn, and each of them is dealing with death-defying issues of a supernatural nature. With creatures from other realms attacking them and an unexpected trip through a portal, the Wright family enjoys another thrilling twenty-four-hour adventure of monsters and mayhem. How will they all survive?

Hunting Vampires for Fun and Profit (Vampire Innocent: Book 13) by Matthew Cox is a thrilling, entertaining, and spectacularly enjoyable fantasy. The skillfully written story paradoxically combines humor with terrifying monsters. It is a fun tale consisting of charming characters, chilling action scenes, and an exciting storyline. Even though it is the 13th book in the series, it does very well as a standalone. I was quite impressed with how well the story flowed, considering how many adventures Sarah and her family had experienced prior to this one. I am thoroughly enchanted with the Wright family and look forward to meeting each of them again in future installments. It is a stunning novel that will enthrall everyone from teens to adults who love vampire tales that are amusing and exciting. Due to some mild references to sex, it is more suitable for a mature reader.
