Do you enjoy singing? Does it make you happy and feel vibrant and full of life? There is a little girl who loves singing, so much so that she keeps repeating her mantra, which is the title of Kacey Powell-Thorps’ book I Love To Sing, That's My Thing! which shares her passion for singing. The story is more than just about singing and music. It’s also related to feeling good about yourself, believing in yourself, sharing your passion, and working hard to fulfill your dreams. The little girl in this story is determined to enjoy her singing whenever the opportunity presents itself and to share her love of singing in a way that will make others smile.

Kacey Powell-Thorps’ picture book I Love To Sing, That’s My Thing! is all about dreams and sharing what you love doing most, even if you’re not always at your best. The plot follows a little girl who loves to sing and display her passion as she sings her way through each day. The language is simple and the author uses a lot of rhyming verses to make the words of the story lyrical. The young girl’s mantra is repeated on every page, with slight variations, so young readers will quickly learn to recognize the phrase and be able to read it themselves. The author introduces early readers to some musical terms like acapella, solos, duets, harmony, pop, rock, and hip hop. The illustrations are spectacular and add a colorful dimension to the story. This is a simple tale, but a relevant one that promotes the importance of self-awareness and celebrating oneself.
