I Need A Christmas Angel is written by Raykel Tolson. Kelly loved her adopted hometown of five years now, even if she still wasn’t crazy about those winds. Chicago held all the excitement and promise she had envisioned, and she had carved out a pleasant life for herself. Granted, she hadn’t yet fulfilled her dream of being an event organizer and had no significant other figuring in her life, and she was thirty, now. Still, Kelly kept an optimistic outlook on life. Her customer service job paid the bills; her sister-in-law was about to have a baby, and it was nearly Christmas. She’d be going home soon to Shiloh, her hometown 300 miles away from Chicago to see her mom, Kyle, her brother, and her long-term heartthrob Gabe, Kyle’s best friend and co-owner of The Castle, Shiloh’s preeminent sports bar. But Murphy’s Law dictates that nothing ever proceeds as expected, and this Christmas season proved to be no exception to the rule. As Kelly’s mom would put it, they all needed a Christmas Angel this year. But was one out there?

Raykel Tolson’s holiday-themed romance novel I Need a Christmas Angel brims over with magic as Kelly’s trip back home to spend Christmas with her family exceeds her wildest dreams. Tolson’s sweet romance works on so many levels. Her characters are true-to-life and genuine, especially BB, Kelly’s unconventional and body-positive mom, who figures so prominently in this heartwarming tale. The plot is multi-faceted and engaging, and the story moves beautifully. I Need a Christmas Angel is well-written and a joy to read; it’s most highly recommended.
