If You Only Knew is the story of café owner, Faith, and Adventure Sports Centre owner, Zane. Faith has been nothing but focused on building her business, putting men and relationships on the back burner after a bad relationship. But when Zane and his partner Matt open their doors in Peak District, Faith feels something more than annoyance towards Zane. He’s reserved and for good reason. When Faith learns that his partner is actually her ex-boyfriend Aaron who broke her heart, she feels her own insecurities begin to creep up. Zanna Mackenzie has written a mid-paced romance that is more a character study than a romance. Matt (or Aaron) is out to cause trouble, even if he does have a different idea of what “helping” actually means.

Faith is a great character, even if a little flawed. She’s strong and cautious, but she has been damaged by her ex and that makes her wary of a reserved man like Zane. Their connection is just too strong and that is the glue that holds If You Only Knew together. If I hadn't felt that connection this story would have been lost, but Zane and Faith are good together and will be if they can stop others intruding. Zanna Mackenzie walked a fine line of making Matt a horrible person and one you can almost relate to. This story isn’t faced paced and there are no big dramatic events to push it along. It is simply a story of two people falling in love and dealing with their romantic pasts in the process.
