Illogically Logical: The Ills of Society and the Best Treatment is an intelligent and deep commentary on modern politics and social problems, penned by author Dr. R. Asokan. Using the analogy of doctors and surgery, this book proposes a sometimes brutal and surgical approach that may be needed to heal the divisions of the modern world and bring future generations together with a better hope for ‘healing’ society and the world as a whole. Touching on themes of togetherness and the common good, the book explores issues such as world health care, party in-fighting in politics, war and cultural differences.

Dr. R. Asokan makes many salient points about the state of the world today and the endless cycle of elections and immediate tactics to win power which ultimately never result in building a better world for any of us. The summarization of the history of recent government takes a critical look at the advances and mistakes of both the major sides of modern politics and how global politics and culture have also affected the decisions made. Asokan proposes definitive causes to these past issues with suggestions on how they can be fixed for the future. The work is well organized into further chapters on particular issues and viewpoints. The reading is perhaps a little heavy for the layman; however, for those already clued into this way of thinking, I’m certain Illogically Logical: The Ills of Society and the Best Treatment will provide deep thinking material and interesting new suggestions for the future.
