Author Biography

I will be celebrating my 50th birthday this year and I am married to my second husband, Richard and together we have 2 sons, 2 daughters, 1 granddaughter and 2 grandsons.

My life took a change of direction after a significant event happened in my life. The year was 2001 and I separated from my first husband and was facing life as a single parent with my teenage son.

Since that time, I have read so many books and studied various modalities, all in a search to discover myself and my life purpose.

After watching the movie ‘Still Crazy’ and hearing the most amazing songs ‘The Flame Still Burns’ and 'What Might Have Been' from the soundtrack, my creative side was ignited and I wrote my first poem and have been writing ever since. I am not a trained poet, I just write from the heart and my inspiration comes from my own life events and those of family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers by way of articles or news items.

All I can say is that I am amazed at what I have achieved in my life, with the greatest achievement being my own personal growth – taking a negative, I can’t attitude to one where I have now published my first book and have a second one underway.

“Inner Reflections” by Chrissy Hampton, as the title suggests, is a soul-searching journey of the poet. The poems in the book are motivational and inspiring and semi-confessional. The very fact that the poet is taking you into her world itself makes this collection heart-wrenching and endearing to the reader. The style of writing is sublime, simple and elegant. The poems evoke a lot of feelings. The poet’s courage to share her personal journey makes this collection very appealing. The poems deal with healing, peace, truth, love, gratitude and courage. Many of these are missing in the current world we are living in. A few poems deal with her personal relationships. She also gives a lot of advice to the reader. I felt the poems are soul-searching and they reveal the poet’s inner journey, her reflections of life and the efforts she has made to change her life.

I like the fact that she opens up to the reader about her, and how she has finally opened her eyes and decided to change. She speaks of Karma and some of the poems are introspective. One can make out that some of the poems are very personal and written out of experience. Overall I found “Inner Reflections” very inspiring. It is a good collection for people looking to bring about changes in their life. I liked the fact that all the poems have spiritual undertones. One can easily relate to the poet’s perspective on life and personal relationships very easily.
