Inoculated: The End of One Pandemic and the Beginning of Another is a work of fiction in the medical thriller, conspiracy, action, and suspense subgenres. It is best suited to the mature adult reading audience and was penned by author Todd M. Thiede. Holding up a chilling mirror to the events of recent years, we find ourselves exploring the world shortly after the outbreak of a deadly virus, as a miracle vaccine hailed years ahead of its time is distributed amongst the citizens of America. Justin Martin is a doctor with a secret past in SEAL Team 6, who discovers a deadly series of side effects from the vaccine that could make the cure more dangerous than the virus ever was, but will anyone listen to him?

Author Todd M. Thiede presents a conspiracy thriller novel with plenty of clout and one which will certainly please those who enjoy conspiracy fiction and perhaps those who also prefer to take it as fact! One of the strengths of the novel is certainly the scale of panic and urgency that Thiede creates with the immediacy of his narrative and dialogue, which feels suitably global and touches on all those deep-set fears of a newer, even worse pandemic that I’m sure we all suffer from these days. This sense of dread is suddenly sent into overdrive by the excellent, visceral descriptions of dangerous side effects that Justin predicts, witnesses, and accounts for as his discoveries mount up. Overall this makes Inoculated a breakneck-pace action read that will sweep readers up in its hurricane of intrigue, danger, and thrills from cover to cover.

Inoculated: The End of One Pandemic and the Beginning of Another by Todd M. Thiede is a gripping and intense thriller that brings readers into the world of the protagonist, Dr. Justin Martin, who is a complex and compelling character. As a former Navy SEAL with a troubled past, he is haunted by his experiences and struggles to keep his two worlds apart. As Dr. Martin delves deeper into his research into a mysterious medical issue, he uncovers a dangerous conspiracy that threatens not only his own life but also the lives of countless others. Through it all, Justin struggles with internal turmoil and his efforts to maintain a facade of normality.

The plot of Inoculated is both intricate and fast-paced. It will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Todd M. Thiede skillfully weaves together elements of mystery, suspense, and action, creating a captivating narrative that hooks the reader from the first page. Readers will become invested in Dr. Martin's character as he confronts a moral dilemma. The writing style is engaging and vivid, allowing readers to visualize the scenes and empathize with the characters. The dialogue is realistic and serves to develop the role players further, adding depth and authenticity to the story. One of the strengths of the book lies in its exploration of complex themes. In the medical thriller Inoculated: The End of One Pandemic and the Beginning of Another, Dr. Justin Martin of Greater Houston Memorial Hospital was working tirelessly to help victims of the Darmstadt 2.0 virus, but news of a cure caused him more apprehension than relief when he realized how quickly Marvent, the vaccine, had been rolled out. Dr. Martin’s background as a Navy SEAL caused him to suspect that something strange was happening with this cure and that it might be worse than the pandemic itself. When those who had been vaccinated started exhibiting alarming behavior, his worst fears were realized. He stole a sample of the vaccine, and his discoveries were staggering. He soon found himself embroiled in the biggest political conspiracy in history, with few resources to fight back. Can he save the world?

What would happen if the cure for a pandemic was worse than the disease? Recent world events had all of us wondering how much better or worse things could be if a pandemic was weaponized by world governments. Todd M. Thiede gives readers a chilling glimpse into a world where this is exactly what occurred. I enjoyed Inoculated because it not only mirrors recent history well but also addresses many of the concerns that people had during the COVID-19 pandemic and the roll-out of vaccines. Thiede captures the fear, isolation, and uncertainty of such times well while presenting us with a protagonist who faces situations and odds that most of us would find daunting. This is an exciting, fast-paced thriller that will keep readers engaged and wondering how Dr. Martin will be able to overcome the threat not only to himself but the entire world. An excellent read.

Former Navy SEAL Dr. Justin Martin discovers a sinister plot in an imported vaccine crafted to offset a virus ravaging the population in Inoculated by Todd M. Thiede. He teams up with a hacker named Trevor to expose the vaccine as a mind control vehicle promoting white supremacy. Martin is repeatedly betrayed and kicked to the side by the CIA and higher-ranking officials, but succeeds in obtaining a cure and evidence of a deep state and international conspiracy. His quest leads him through China, Japan, and back to the United States to present his findings to the President, picking up allies in the mission, including Clark, a CIA agent, and Dr. Akio, a Japanese scientist. A “blue dust” project and an exposé of the conspiracy will force a confrontation with perpetrators and shake up politics with a worldwide loss of peace, trust, and cooperation. It's a lot for one man, but Martin rarely forgets what it means to be a SEAL.

In the interest of full disclosure, my family hails from the Chinese coastal city of Qingdao and my delight in seeing it in a novel for the first time, regardless of circumstance, made me squeal with delight while reading Inoculated by Todd M. Thiede. I'm not saying that it impacted my review in any way, shape, or form, except to say that it 100% definitely did. I enjoy books that continent-hop and am particularly fond of novels where the bad guys are real-life buddies of America, and it is so refreshing that Theide didn't follow in the footsteps of tired tropes that constantly pin the crime in every worldwide plot on the poor Middle East. Theibe turns to “friends” of America and pieces of an unpatriotic deep state conspiracy, a combo that will not end well with a Navy SEAL main character. Theibe releases the topic of medicine we need but most don't understand and raises questions about authority, trust, and the ethics of power. The pinning of racism and medical malpractice together in a country with a past that involved mass sterilizing and experimentation on people of color is distressing but historically sound. Inoculated has something for everyone and, whatever your stripes, is a blast to read.

Inoculated by Todd M. Thiede is set in a world devastated by the Darmstadt 2.0 virus, where Dr. Justin Martin, a Navy SEAL veteran, has suspicions regarding the vaccine Marvent, which he discovers has mind-controlling properties. This substance, disseminated through a racist agenda, prompts Martin to gather evidence and allies across the globe. Despite betrayals and threats, he uncovers a high-ranking conspiracy. His daring plan to force an audience and present evidence to the President is unsuccessful, leading to a devastating loss and the team becoming fugitives. Undeterred and led by Martin, the group expands, and desperate to prove a cure successful, they are willing to put those they love on the line for the good of all. If they can get the support of powerful people, they may be able to prove the source from a restored Axis alliance, but if they cannot, there will be no hope for anyone.

Inoculated by Todd M. Thiede offers an interesting twist to the medical thriller genre in that the cause of the pandemic is part and parcel of the delivery of the true motive behind the so-called cure. This is where the subtitle, The End of One Pandemic and the Beginning of Another, kicks in. Thiede's general narrative offers quite an extensive character development, and the result is a reader connecting to their personal journeys and eliciting genuine empathy at their losses. I was stunned and deeply saddened by one in particular. There is room to refine the writing quality and character dialogue, as the characters sometimes come across as simplistic in thought and speech. However, the pacing moves at an excellent clip so the story unfolds with an even rhythm, sustaining interest in an interesting plot and a constant flow of action throughout. Recommended.
