Interstellar Reporter Danica Star: Unto War by Ross Loren Lindrud is a thrilling science fiction novel set in the 30th century. The story starts with journalist Danica Star and her cameraman Walter as they traverse space in search of breaking news stories. Armed with their courage, training, and a thousand years of journalistic evolution, Danica and Walter pursue a story and find themselves in a potential war zone in the Vega star system. Meanwhile, on the planet Aremis, ravaged by the first attack, a group of orphans led by Billy is fighting for their survival and attempting to reach safety on a nearby space station. As the threat of war looms, the characters' fates intertwine, and their survival is at stake.

Ross Loren Lindrud has done an excellent job of translating the intricate lore of the popular video game Star Citizens onto the pages of a novel. The characters are relatable and dynamic, and his writing style enables us to empathize with each of them, including the alien enemies. The tension and high stakes of war are masterfully executed, with fascinating technologies and space combat strategies incorporated into the story. Interstellar Reporter Danica Star is a captivating and action-packed read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The tension and the high pressures of the war are brilliantly executed, with pacing that is right on point, with the suspense building throughout the story, leading to a satisfying conclusion.

A war breaks out in space, and a team of journalists, innocent civilians, and space marines fight for their lives. A group of vengeful, demonic-looking aliens are on the rampage, and their motives for attacking are unknown. Danica Star and Walter’s job as journalists is to report the truth and not get involved, but they find themselves in chaos. During the attacks, Billy, an orphan boy, learns to be responsible and resourceful while Lieutenant Bullard and Captain Conrad utilize their military skills to save lives, but will their efforts be successful? Join all these characters and more in Interstellar Reporter Danica Star: Unto War by Ross Loren Lindrud, a futuristic action thriller.

I loved reading Interstellar Reporter Danica Star: Unto War because it is fast-paced, suspenseful, and action-packed. The story gave me Star Wars vibes but also had paranormal activity. The aliens have floating heads and use weird weapons like glowing spears. The story also has an element of mystery. Ross Loren Lindrud tells the reader that the war is about a vendetta but does not give all the details until the final chapters. He offers hints throughout the book and ends every chapter on a cliffhanger. The book also has great characters. Danica is a determined woman with a strong fighting spirit. Unfortunately, she only appears at the beginning and end of the book. I wished she had more scenes because she has a great personality, and her name appears in the title. Other than this, the novel is a must-read for science fiction lovers because it has a brilliant and unique plot.

Interstellar Reporter Danica Star: Unto War is a work of fiction in the science fiction, adventure, and suspense subgenres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience and was penned by author Ross Loren Lindrud. This interesting and original science fiction drama focuses on the central protagonist Danica Star, who is a highly trained journalist that arrives in the Vega system on a hunch, only to discover that she is on the precipice of a massive, dangerous interstellar war. The work covers the crucial period just before a huge war breaks out, with every intricacy and tension from the political, military, civilian, and social dynamics at play.

Author Ross Loren Lindrud has crafted a novel like nothing I’ve ever read, where the journalistic focus is at the forefront of a pre-war story, and every moment of tense interaction counts for something. I found this to be a very involved read and it totally sucked me into the system, the politics, the violence, and the intrigue, with Danica perfectly set up to take the mantle as a capable central narrative figure and to help us as readers navigate her world. The world-building and atmosphere of the writing were totally immersive and believable, with no stone left unturned in how this futuristic society works or, in the case of the conflict on Vega II, doesn’t work anymore. Overall, Interstellar Reporter Danica Star: Unto War is a fantastic portrayal of a crisis taking shape, and I hope to see more from this talented author and really enticing central character in future books.
