JQR is an epic-length work of science fiction and action/adventure and was penned by author Joey Rodriguez. The work is suitable for mature teens and adult readers due to some graphic content including scenes of violence, brief mentions of sexual situations and the use of explicit language. In an atomic wasteland where human life hangs on by a thread, we meet JoJo, an android with a child-like mind. As JoJo and his faithful dog search the world for his human parents, they meet danger, deceit, and enmity at every turn. JoJo’s internal struggles match those of his outer self: a boy truly lost in a world that has turned upside down.

Hardcore science fiction readers who want an in-depth road story that really hits home are going to love JQR. It’s an epic read, but the pages are beautifully penned by author Joey Rodriguez, with much to say about the hierarchy of the human world and human nature, especially from this charming outsider perspective. JoJo is a fantastic character who presents a unique narrative challenge, and Rodriguez keeps him just that little bit alien from us, even though we can relate very much to his sense of loss and identity crisis. There’s something reminiscent of a futuristic Pinocchio in this tale of a boy who will never be human, and the plot weaves sensitively around the emotional arc to produce a tear-inducing result by its conclusion. Overall, JQR is a truly touching tale that will satisfy both science fiction fans and emotional drama fans alike.
