Knight-Dreams by Nicole Elaine Avery is filled with memorable poems. Some of my favorites include Where Has Your Love Gone? A simple story about how you can fall out of love and how the person who is left behind feels. Heartache talks about the complexity of love, how we all need it, and how it could hurt us. If Not Here, Then Where? talks about feeling trapped and seeking a space where you can be yourself. Holiday Bliss is about how this person does not want flowers or chocolate for Valentine's Day but rather someone to spend their life with. Untitled is about how we only truly see when we experience pain or loss and wipe away the tears. Lit talks about offering hope to someone and feeling intensely for them. Freedom is about letting go of your love and how freedom can be painful but helpful in most cases.

Knight-Dreams: Poetry of the Night by Nicole Elaine Avery is a close-up look at a person's deep thoughts about love and life. It's about losing and gaining that human connection. These poems stood out because they reflect how I feel about love and loss, about the deep connections that bind us; it is as if Avery could read my mind. Knight-Dreams focuses strongly on the human connection and what it means to love. Any lover of poetry will be drawn to this collection because Avery's words speak directly to you. I highly recommend it.
