Her goal as mother and an author, is to spread the magic of books to children so they can join in her obsession of reading. She loves to create fun stories by gathering inspiration from her kids. Later, Said Gator, the first book in the I Like Me & What I Can Be Collection by Carli Valentine, is an incredible children’s book that teaches a valuable lesson while keeping children engaged. Milo is an intelligent 7-year-old gator who loves being creative and active. With his pet fish Chad to keep him company, Milo spends his days playing with his rocks, painting, and letting his creativity flow. In between it all, he forgets to clean up after himself, even when his mother reminds him to do so. Believing he will do it later, Milo creates a mess he cannot escape. Having fun is great, but cleaning up the mess is very important too. Milo will learn this valuable lesson and share it with us.

Carli Valentine did a fantastic job in writing and illustrating this storybook. The illustrations are fun and add character to her wonderfully written prose. The lyrical quality of the narrative is engaging and entertaining. I can imagine reading this story to a child and seeing them fully engrossed. The lesson is excellent, especially for children who run away from responsibility or don’t understand the importance of doing things on time. The Milo’s Mighty Cleanup Tips section in the end will be a great help for children to find a rhythm in their routines and make a cleanup much more manageable. I highly recommend this encouraging and educating story to parents who want to instill responsibility and independence in their preschoolers.

This story about an adorable alligator is sure to resonate with a lot of people! Milo just wants to play and can't seem to focus on any one activity. Everything is too fun! He continues to procrastinate cleaning up his room, only to find that he waited too long and will have to (literally) dig himself out of a mess. As a huge procrastinator myself, I feel Milo's pain! But this story teaches us that it can be better to do things sooner than later, rather than regret the consequences that may come up. The story also shows that everyone makes mistakes, but we are all still worthy of love.

The rhyming is fun and the illustrations are so cute! Children will love the colorful photos and pick up on important lessons as well. I'm sure readers young and old will identify with Milo's personality and get a bit of inspiration from his story!

Great for my ADHD son

Darling book to demonstrate skills of cleaning a room for someone who gets easily distracted.

Incredible

Later” Said Gator is such an adorable and relatable story. I feel like every parent and child can relate! I don’t know how many times I’ve hear my own children say the same thing! I love all of the illustrations in this sweet and thoughtful story. The gentle way that mommy gator handles the situation is so wonderful too. It’s another fabulous book by Carli Valentine. Highly recommend.

So fun!

Children will love this fun book!
The cute gator character has trouble keeping things tidy and organised, which is something many children (and parents) can relate to. This struggle is often experienced by those with neuro conditions where structure and organisation can be a challenge.
Highlights the benfits of keeping up with tidiness.

Clean up has never been more fun

Let’s face it NOBODY likes to clean up their messes including Milo the gator. Milo gets carried away doing fun things while Mama Gator begs him to clean up his room. This sweet book is very relatable to children as they all have vibrant imaginations and tend to get distracted easily. The illustrations are super cute and Chad the fish makes you giggle. The author even gives tips to parents at the end of the book on how to engage your child in a productive cleanup! Adorable story with a great message.

Carli Valentine’s book, “Later, Said Gator” is a smartly written and beautifully illustrated children’s book. The book not only has a relatable story, but one that teaches children valuable life skills! For the child that needs a nudge to clean up their room, Milo teaches just how to tackle this task. The Milo’s Mighty Cleanup Tips at the end of the book offers further ideas and information to help make the cleanup process go even easier. I recommend this book as a great read for parents and children together!
