As one of the few people who survived having a malignant brain tumor, Fiona Carpenter lives every day like it's the last and continues to engage in her regular activities with more vigor than ever. Several times in her life, Fiona was forced to battle challenges from people and some difficult developments she never saw coming. In Life of a Bondi Girl, Fiona narrates the notable, adventure-filled events in her life journey and the trying moments that pushed her to be stronger and wiser. Fiona decided to keep making every day count, despite encountering problems like bullies, sexual predators, a lower back bulging disc injury, and a brain tumor, to name a few. Her book includes recounts of her childhood in Australia, her relocation to the UK, and different experiences that shaped her into the woman she is today.

Fiona Carpenter's display of resilience and strength in the face of terrible developments is nothing short of awesome! It's amazing that she went right back to work a day after collapsing at work while awaiting the date appointed for her brain tumor surgery. The story is narrated in a matter-of-fact tone that gets the message across effectively and delivers a pleasant reading experience. Readers also get a smooth blend of different themes, including competitive swimming, romantic relationships, physical abuse, bullying, partying, traveling, working, and more. You should read this book if you love true stories about strong female characters. Life of a Bondi Girl contains several great scenes that will inspire you to stand up against bullies and abusers and to keep going no matter what life throws at you. It has been a while since a memoir made me feel this alive and determined to make every minute count!
