The study of weather and nature can be a lot of fun when explained in the right way. Guy Brown is a meteorologist who shares information clearly and entertainingly. Look Up to See What the Weather Will Be has wide-ranging content. He begins by explaining what a meteorologist does and how he collects and analyzes information. Brown describes his work behind the scenes and the things he must analyze to give an accurate forecast, such as temperature or wind direction. He also mentions the tools and technology used. Brown contrasts the modern and classic methods. He explains the types of satellites that observe the weather and teaches the more traditional tools such as the barometer or the windsock. Environmental observation and animals are also aspects that he takes into account.

Look Up to See What the Weather Will Be has original content, perfect for kids who love science or animals. I loved the illustrations because they have a realistic feel. The detail in the images and the variety of animals and scenery make the book visually attractive. The explanations cover different environments such as oceans or deserts, and everything is clearly described. Much of the information concerns observing animals because they can feel the changes in temperature and humidity. Guy Brown provides an interactive approach, adding tips about how to prepare for all types of weather. He explains the types of clouds so children can make their own observations. At the end, there is a glossary so children can become more familiar with the terms. Brown has been interested in observing the sky since he was a child and now shares his passion.
