Lost Lives: The Redstone Chronicles Book 5 by Judy T. Bishop invites us on a thrilling journey into the mysterious woods of the southern Sierra Nevada, along with paranormal investigators Mason Redstone and Trick Monroe. The partners at SCOPE had an irresistible offer from the wealthy Barbara Ann Douglas to stay in the luxurious wood cabins for five days, write a review about their time there, and receive five thousand dollars each. The offer included Mason's sister, Mikey, his girlfriend, Valerie, and his friends, Detectives Aaron Remalla and Gordon Daniels, with his wife, Marjorie. It turned out that locals opposed Barbara's plans to develop land that once belonged to Native American nations, and people went missing in these woods. Lindsey Eilish from Cryptid Unit believes that the trip may be dangerous for Trick and his friends. She joins them to keep an eye on the woods, where ancient evil lies hidden.

Judy T. Bishop's Lost Lives will not disappoint fans of stories about monsters or cryptids. Bishop's beautiful writing style and lively dialogue pulled me into the book immediately. The interaction between the characters includes a touch of humor and kept me highly entertained. Bishop's characters are interesting and multilayered. Trick is a player, convinced that he is irresistible, but he shows his chivalrous side by protecting Lindsey, his love interest. Lindsey, a tough girl always ready to put her knife to use, is considerate toward her new friends even if she doesn't want to show them her soft side. I liked that in describing the characters, Bishop portrays normal human reactions to stress and creates believable situations in the paranormal horror account. The book is action-packed, but the narrative is not overwhelming and stays engaging until the end. Bishop's monsters are not trivial and will surprise readers with their abilities. I recommend this to lovers of adventure, paranormal thrillers, suspense, and family drama.

Lost Lives is a supernatural thriller by Judy T. Bishop. Jonathan Tillerman and his son were camping and hiking when they came across a bizarre kill. They heard a high-pitched wail, and then everything went quiet, too quiet. Father and son were never seen again. Barbara Ann Douglas makes Mason and his sister Mikey an offer they cannot refuse. Mason, Mikey, and their friends will have a fully paid vacation in exchange for good ratings on a camping site. Barbara chose Mason and his friends because good ratings from them will attract visitors to the site. Mason and his friends stay in the woods with almost no contact with the outside world. The friends are attacked while hiking, and they realize they are not alone in the woods. They will have to stick together to survive.

Judy T. Bishop took me on a suspenseful rollercoaster ride in Lost Lives. The plot was complicated and exciting and kept me intrigued until the end. The story was fast-paced and jam-packed with action. It was a nail-biting experience with all the twists and turns. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages as fast as I could. There were so many events taking place without losing the thread of the story. The characters were authentic and relatable. Each character has a background and a special set of skills. Together, the characters formed a strong unit that nobody should mess with. The story was exceptionally well written, with the events described in detail. This was an excellent paranormal thriller that I would love to read again.

An all-expenses-paid vacation is dangled invitingly in front of the SCOPE team and two well-known detectives by a businesswoman. She wanted to offer a unique getaway featuring beautiful scenery and luxury. Unfortunately, ten years back, a son and father went missing near the place where she wanted to set up her new business venture. This incident continued to haunt the vicinity and deterred any potential customers. This is where Mason and the others came in. They were hired to give their unbiased opinion on five adjacent cabins set in an idyllic spot. This was supposed to be nothing more than an easy way to earn money while having fun during their free vacation with no hint of danger. There may be more to this trip than meets the eye. Immerse yourself in Lost Lives: The Redstone Chronicles Book 5, a paranormal P.I. mystery thriller by J. T. Bishop.

Lost Lives was a thrilling and suspenseful adventure. From the cliffhanger opening scene to the surprising reveal, this story doesn’t let up and gets even more exciting as the mystery deepens. It started as nothing more than an easy job but the team soon learns that there may be more to the disappearance ten years ago than they first thought. Finding the truth was a harrowing journey and it compelled me to dig for clues along with the team. The story’s twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and I was taken on a ride I will never forget. The book melds the paranormal and mystery elements so well that I had difficulty putting the book down. Not only was the plot exhilarating and engrossing but the characters were all compelling. I was impressed by their abilities and admired their quick thinking during dangerous situations. Despite Lindsey’s initial hostility to Trick, this duo’s chemistry was electric and I could practically feel the sparks. This was a phenomenal read. I can’t wait for more from J. T. Bishop.
