Chaotic, that’s how I would define Jade, but she’s the good kind of crazy. Jade’s the drummer in A.D. Craig’s punk rock-themed series Lovely Oblivion: Jade. With her overly flirtatious nature and rainbow-colored hair, she is the complete opposite of ex-Navy SEAL Ryker Vittroli. The two meet when Jade’s stalker goes a step further in their attentions, and his firm gets hired as Lovely Oblivion’s security detail.

From the moment Jade said, “Oh, Tawny, I plan to fight with him – All. Night. Long,” I knew that I would love her character. The way in which she is portrayed was so refreshing because, usually, we encounter either a shy or loud-mouthed main character. But how Jade was constructed actually rings true to how some women are, including my girlfriends and me. She’s not cut from the traditional female main character cloth, but that’s what makes her fun. Her straightforward attitude and flirty jokes had me laughing at some of the reactions of the other characters. We can’t forget about Mr. Blue Eyes, Ryker’s character, who was so relaxed, rolled with Jade’s jokes and had her back when she needed it.

Tropes in Lovely Oblivion: Jade include rockstar romance, bodyguard, comedy, and suspense. The overall plot is what captivated the true crime junkie in me, and you can bet that I tried uncovering the stalker’s identity alongside Ryker and his team. Did I mention that it's in dual-POVs? I applaud A.D. Craig, and can’t wait to sink my teeth into the other books of the Lovely Oblivion Series!
