Mammoth Drop: Murder, Mammoths, and Mimosas is a murder mystery novel by R.J. Corgan. Paleontologist Kea Wright's trip to the Mammoth Drop excavation site - a prehistoric cavern system in South Dakota - takes a darker turn when her mentor, Harry, unexpectedly turns up dead with his chest pierced by a mammoth tusk. To Kea's surprise, she finds out that Harry left the Mammoth Drop in her name, which includes a gay campground called the Woolly Hole. With her experience as an amateur sleuth and a few ardent fans, Kea is determined to find the killer and solve the case. But she may have bitten off more than she can chew as she quickly discovers that things are not as they seem. As the list of suspects grows, Kea finds herself in mortal danger.

A captivating whodunnit bound to entice lovers of sleuth stories, Mammoth Drop gets its hooks into you from the first page and refuses to let go until the end. R.J. Corgan spins a compelling yarn filled with mystery, suspense, and humor to keep your eyes glued to the pages. The plot moves at a brisk pace with unexpected twists and turns that keep you guessing what's going to happen next. The characters are brimming with personality. They are vibrant and colorful, and this is a thoroughly entertaining read. Like the best murder mysteries, everyone is a suspect with credible motives and involvement. The scenes involving Kea in the Woolly Hole had me in stitches and were some of my personal favorites in the book. Recommended to fans of murder mysteries.
