Poems speak to the soul and heart. Kayla E. Green in Metamorphosis speaks to the soul, heart, and spirit. The poems in this collection have a calming effect. They help bring peace from God to your troubled heart. We see the depths of depression at the book's beginning but finish with triumphant victory through Jesus Christ at the end. Faith in God and His love elevates the soul and spirit from the valley of death to the mountaintop of success. Even though the poems are personal, they will touch you because we share the pain. One line inspires me: “I’m letting go of all I want…So You can give me what I need.” The words contain gems of wisdom and comfort.

Kayla E. Green, in Metamorphosis, has shared her journey from depression and anxiety to a life of victory in faith and God’s love. She compares her transformation to a butterfly’s metamorphosis while changing from a caterpillar to a beautiful adult butterfly. Kayla bares her soul so you can feed your own soul and spirit. The Scriptures before each poem are uplifting. The poems are a delight to read. You will find yourself rereading as you face new trials in your life. Kayla gives words of comfort supported by God’s words of comfort. When we realize our strength in Christ, we become overcomers. I loved this book. Wonderful and inspiring words. This is destined to become my favorite collection of poems. I am sure you will enjoy it too.

Metamorphosis by Kayla E. Green is a poetry collection that artistically portrays the concept of light in the darkness. Green introduces this Christian faith-based book as a story of finding encouragement in God amid mental illness and identity struggles. Each poem in the collection is preceded by a Bible verse that leads us into the poet’s heartfelt response. While a vast range of emotions is expressed, including desperation, hurt, panic, and doubt, to name just a few, Green always draws us back to hope in Christ. With accessible language, beautiful formatting, and each poem lasting only a page, Metamorphosis is perfect for meditation, worship, and allowing art to be a balm and expression of faith when the right words seem far away.

As a Christian, I found Metamorphosis a good collection of genuine wrestling through faith. Though Kayla E. Green uses descriptions and language in a way that is appropriate and accessible to all audiences, she does not minimize the deep discomfort of life’s suffering. This authenticity brought a refreshing voice not always captured in spiritual poetry. I found the juxtaposition of scriptures and poetic response worked well throughout, reminding Christians of the words of the Bible that Green seeks to connect her audience with and leading the curious outsider to the Christian faith with an understanding of the religious themes. I highly recommend it to lovers of faith-based poetry and believers seeking words for prayer and worship in challenging times.

Drawing inspiration from her life experiences, Kayla E. Green's captivating poetry collection Metamorphosis touches upon some serious issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, faith, hope, and God through the lens of Christianity. Crushed by pain and despair, the narrator cries out to the One who never left her side at the lowest point of her life in My Tears. In Dear Child, the narrator has a crisis of faith, questioning beliefs while surrounded by pain and suffering. Purpose is a poem about a woman discovering that her place isn't where she is meant to be. A Broken Heart is a plea to the Almighty to heal a soul in turmoil. Finally, Don't Worry is a motivational poem reminding us that we are more than we think.

Kayla E. Green urges us to keep our faith in God through her mesmerizing poetry, which will show the way to all the lost and broken-hearted souls. The narrative theme of Metamorphosis seems to be that of change, the courage and willingness to shed the baggage of the past and look forward to the future with renewed hope and faith in God. Green's poetry explores some serious issues related to mental health, including anxiety and depression. It is written hauntingly beautifully and experiments with different rhyming structures and styles, giving each poem a distinct flavor that makes them unique. Life has its share of ups and downs, but through hope and faith in God, no challenge or hurdle is unsurmountable. Highly recommended.

Metamorphosis is a book of inspirational poetry by Kayla E. Green. With God and his purpose in mind, Green delivers fifty poems that describe her battle with depression and anxiety and her transformation as she focuses on positive biblical scripture. Scriptures from the Bible are present throughout her work, pointing to the poem's theme that follows. The ending piece symbolizes a baptism as she refocuses her energy and sheds negative feelings.

Kayla E. Green finds a beautiful way of linking her poems with verses from the Bible, and her passion for poetry and Christianity is refreshing. The poems magnify the pain she feels and her continued faith in God. Green embraces Christianity and credits her renewed strength and confidence to God. Most poems are free verse, but she experiments with various deliveries. Still, her tone is clear, and her message is profound. Most will be familiar with the scripture used in the book. Still, the works are original and inspirational, citing feelings of temptation, sadness, and self-doubt but also showcasing love, acceptance, and renewal. We move through the pieces, some of which read like stories, finding relatable gems in Green’s words. Her poems could be viewed as a testimony and may help others dealing with similar issues as the ones described. Metamorphosis is an excellent selection for those who enjoy poetry about personal transformations from a Christian perspective.

Metamorphosis is a collection of Christian poems inspired by the author’s transformation journey. Kayla E. Green went through depression and felt shattered for a long time, but with God's help, she managed to pull herself out of a dark place and find her way to the light. Each poem aims to strengthen your spirit and remind you that you can attain greatness. It will take you on an uplifting journey from a broken soul to a brave servant and soldier of the Lord. You will be reborn with a new heart, and God will be with you and fight all your battles. Green also includes poems about self-love, the promise of heaven, and God’s unconditional love.

Kayla E. Green is an incredible writer who uses her life experience and love for poetry to tell her story. Metamorphosis is beautifully written and will help you see the brighter side of life. So many people are going through depression and feeling anxious and unloved. They will relate to Green's pain and be inspired to overcome their trauma. The collection follows a consistent format. The poems are stories, prayers, or words of affirmation, and each one begins with a Bible verse that corresponds perfectly with the poem. The one about a father that takes time out of his busy day to teach his daughter how to pray touched my heart. It reminded me of a tiny gesture's impact on someone’s spiritual life and future. When in trouble, the daughter will never forget what she was taught and turn to the Lord. The collection will give you hope and guide you through difficult moments, so get yourself a copy.
