Moonlight Becomes You by Robert Herold is a paranormal thriller set in the small town of Petersberg, Virginia, two decades after the end of the American Civil War. Harvard Professor William James arrives in Petersberg alongside the Eidola Project members, Dr. Edward Gilpin, Nigel Pickford, Sarah Bradbury, and Annabelle Douglas, to hunt down a mysterious beast from ancient folklore. However, upon their arrival, they quickly discover that it's not just the beast that poses a danger to their lives, but also the hateful group, the Ku Klux Klan, which has a firm grip over the town. Additionally, Nigel struggles with visions that always end up in tragedy. The group navigates racism, infighting, and a supernatural threat while one of their own falls in love with a local. Can they seek out the monster and finish him off for good?

Author Robert Herold keeps you on the edge of your seat with a nail-biting paranormal thriller filled with suspense, horror, and plenty of thrills. The narrative is brimming with tension as each turn of the page provides yet another twist, keeping your eyes glued to the pages. It's hard to say which faction poses the bigger threat to our protagonists; the supernatural beast or the monsters hiding in plain sight. The characters feel well-fleshed out, with thorough backstories that make them easy to relate to and provide agency to their actions. The dynamic between each member of the Eidola Project group feels authentic, making their interactions utterly captivating to read. Recommended to fans of supernatural thrillers.
