More Than One Way to Fly by Tami L. Ullom is a delightful children’s book. It is the story of a friendship between a Chickadee bird, called Charity, and a solitary Creeper, called Amon, and most importantly it is an ode to the kindness and welcoming nature of Chickadees. This book is gorgeously illustrated and the text is lovely, including poetry, heart-warming sentences, and text at the end of the story that explains the story’s inspiration. This adorable story is all about acceptance of differences, and the importance of befriending the more marginalized in our society.

I loved reading More Than One Way to Fly by Tami L. Ullom. It is absolutely magnificent and is actually the most beautifully illustrated book I have ever read! The drawings perfectly complement the text and deliver the message of kindness and love for all others who may be different, and that is what makes our world so beautiful. It would be quite boring if we were all alike and if we did not have any personal, unique qualities. To top it all, one of the main messages of this book is also that being different allows us to help each other. We could not if we were all alike and had the same skills, the same talents, the same know-how, and knowledge. This story about appreciating and welcoming others is a gem. I do hope the author will publish more. Thank you for sharing such a positive and lovely message! As a teacher and parent, I applaud it.
