Morrigan's Hotel is a fast-paced short story by Amy Louise Hill surrounding the establishment in Clearmoor owned by the Morrigan family. The family, comprising a loving couple and their four children, runs a seldom-visited hotel. The couple treats each client with the same care and affection they reserve for their children. Henry Buckle, their new and charming American guest, is no exception, and they all try their best to make him feel welcome. One by one, someone murders all those in the hotel in a killing spree worthy of Agatha Christie. Mr. Buckle seems so gentle, which makes him look innocent, but every piece of evidence points to him. Fear settles in while they wonder who will be next. But that is not all. A disturbing infection called acidic rain virus hits Cleamoor. The characteristics of the disease are unusual, to say the least.

If you are looking for a lighthearted read, keep looking because this book is not for you. Throughout every page and every word, I could feel the cold touch of a shiver down my spine. Amy Louise Hill wrote Morrigan's Hotel by combining very detailed and intense descriptions. Everything about this virus calls for answers that Amy Louise Hill cleverly reserves for a two-part spin-off series. The result is a chilling thriller meant to keep you awake at night. Perhaps you should save it for a sunny morning, but if you are brave enough, I would recommend unleashing its horrors under the night sky.
