Moving Made Easy, by Kym McAuliffe Phillips, is a comprehensive guide to one of life’s more stressful events. The author says that reading her book will help save both time and money, whether you’re moving from your residence to another or from one business office to another. Chapter titles include Planning Your Move, Downsizing and Decluttering, Insurance, and seven more. Each chapter ends with Stories from the Field, which are true anecdotes that Phillips has experienced or heard about regarding moving. Phillips also includes “hot tips,” short but incredibly insightful recommendations about moving. A list of recommended resources and references is at the end. Phillips has more than 30 years of experience in the moving industry. American readers will need to know that Phillips is Australian and calls movers "removalists," but the term means the same as "movers” in the United States.

Everyone knows that moving is not one of life’s most enjoyable experiences. But fortunately, Kym McAuliffe Phillips wrote Moving Made Easy with decades of experience in helping people move; she’s seen it all and writes about every conceivable aspect of moving. As a result, the book includes topics that I never would have even thought about, such as the effect of moving on pets. I especially enjoyed the end-of-chapter Stories from the Field. Some of the anecdotes are astonishing, but they all bring additional insight into what can go wrong in moving and how to avoid those issues. I highly recommend it to everyone who is moving, about to move, or might. You will learn much to make the process easier, less problematic, and more fun.
