Thomas Ashley Young aptly named his book Musings of a Traveler Headed Home. Thomas shares bits of wisdom, insight, and events from his life. Indeed, this book is a collection of his musings concerning traveling through life to his eternal home. Thomas wants to make sure his readers know that what Christ thinks of them is so much more important than what people think of them. Therefore, listening to the voice of Christ is of paramount importance. Even when it did not make sense, Thomas would change course following the leading of Christ. As a result of listening to God, Thomas had many unique events happen along his journey. Thomas’s desire is to share those events and encourage us to follow his example. This would include learning how to follow the lead of Christ and enjoy the adventures that follow.

Reading Musings of a Traveler Headed Home by Thomas Ashley Young is like sitting with him on his front porch while listening to him share his travels. He does not tell a boring vacation story like we have all endured. Instead, he shares his exciting adventures as he follows the lead of the Master. Thomas’s writing style is homey and conversational. He shares as he remembers. The chronology may not be straightforward, but that is one of the endearing qualities of this book. If you have ever sat and listened to someone recounting their life, you will recognize this style. Reading this book was pure joy. Thomas does not elevate himself in Musings of a Traveler Headed Home but focuses on Jesus. This is an inspiring book.
