Author Biography

Colleen S. Myers was raised in a large catholic family in the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she grew up on Harlequin teen romances and stories from her mother’s days as a paramedic. She went on to attend Allegheny College majoring in Biology and English.

After college, Colleen spent a year in service in the Americorp giving back to the community at a local Pittsburgh Women Infants and Children Clinic (WICC) before attending Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine on a military scholarship.

Upon completing medical school, Colleen attended residency at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and was on base in Washington, DC during 9/11. She earned three meritorious service awards from the military. After serving seven years of active duty, she promptly landed a position at the VA to provide fellow veterans with optimum medical care. Still an avid fan of romances into adulthood, her love of the genre inspired her to hone her craft as a writer, focusing on contemporary romance and science fiction. Her background in medicine and the military provides an inspiring layer of creative realism to her stories and characters.

Her first book, Must Remember, the first book in the Solum series, is published by Champagne Press. The sequel, Can’t Forget, coming in June 2016, is the recipient of the 2015 RWA New England Readers Award.

Colleen currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband and son, and spends her spare time writing. She is also working on a new contemporary romance.

Must Remember by Colleen S. Myers is about Elizabeth ‘Beta’ Camden, a 19-year-old girl who was abducted by aliens, the E’mani. She was experimented on in the most excruciating ways, but she was waiting for the day when she would be able to break free and live her life the way she wanted to. When she does manage to escape those pale aliens, she falls in the hands of another alien race. The Fost and the E’mani are ancient enemies, and they both want something that Beta has. As time passes, she discovers that her body has changed. There are tattoos that hold a magic in them and that magic is developing in her body. But now she has the Fost and one particular alien on her side. They teach her their ways because the E’mani will be back to get her. And when they do, they will show no mercy.

WOW, if I didn’t know it already, I would never have known that this novel was Myers' first. Although alien abductions and interracial romance is not my cup of tea, this novel was a definite exception. The novel was good. It was fast paced (but, not too fast), had a developed plot line, and an amazing protagonist who makes you laugh. I don’t like girly-girl protagonists much, but again, Beta was different. She was smart, ready to change and ready to survive. She knew she had no option, but to survive and she did that exactly, albeit with the help of one hot alien. A really good novel that kept me entertained.

I am currently reading this book. So far so good. I like her style of writing and the pace of the book. I Hope part two comes out soon.
