My Dreamland by Isabel Scheck takes you into the thoughts and feelings of a teenage girl. It shows you her dreams, her wants, her idea of a perfect boyfriend, and it is all told through poetry and the four seasons that circle around in our lives. Take a look inside the window given and enjoy what you learn through this poetry. This book is what it truly is and doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. The stories of Winter are perhaps my favorite. I can picture the cool air and the frozen kisses. Perhaps it is because I am a snow queen myself but I will certainly always enjoy Winter themes. Fall, of course, is another favorite, not just because it leads into winter but the idea of the changing colors of leaves, the crunching underfoot, the scent of crisp air. I live in an area where I don't get to see that anymore, but I know it well and miss it. Many of these poems brought back those memories and happy moments for me.

It has been a while since I have sat down and truly just enjoyed some poetry. Sitting down with this book, I was able to read from cover to cover and I enjoyed every moment I spent with it. The poems are well written in a prose that isn't too flowery, it is just right. Nothing upsets me more than reading poetry that's trying to be what it isn't, when the poem is trying to be pretentious and over the top. If you are seeking a book of poems that will make you feel something, that will truly be a relaxing and enjoyable read, I highly recommend this collection. Isabel Scheck knows how to write enjoyable poetry, and I look forward to more from her.

In the deathly cold of winter, two people meet and fall in love. The chilly weather only serves to fuel their love. Christmas comes and goes, and they fall deeper in love, more than ever. The lady rests in the arms of her love and his warm hugs become a longing for her. The two become inseparable even as the four seasons come and pass, finding great pleasure in undertaking simple activities. At different points in time, they attend parties, walk the dog and drink hot chocolate together, creating more delightful moments. The poems contained in My Dreamland by Isabel Scheck are told in a blissful tone. They present a couple’s journey as they discover the thrill of love through whimsical endeavors.

The poet is definitely talented. The intelligent use of descriptive words and intonation that culminate into an engaging rhythm makes My Dreamland by Isabel Scheck an evocative read. Each line in the poem is beautifully crafted to fit the four seasons explored in the book. The lines are reflective and the relationship the lovebirds share is warm and admirable. Somehow, Isabel Scheck manages to use ordinary words to portray extraordinary scenes. The grammar functions are also appropriately used. I loved that the poet wove different activities common for each particular season into the poems. This gave the collection additional depth and also formed a great backdrop for the growth of the relationship presented in the book.

My Dreamland is a book of poetry by Isabel Scheck. It is a powerful book of moments. It is a book of seasons, images, and the feelings they inspire. We all have these moments, especially those of us who have been in love. I have often wanted to capture those moments. I want to capture them because they are precious. They are, arguably, the most precious thing in life. Isabel Scheck has captured some of them for us. She has captured them with words. I love this book but a lot of readers may not be able to appreciate it. They are too busy. They are striving for success, fame, money and power. In this race to reach their goals, they may very well miss the most precious moments of their lives.

My Dreamland is a book of seasons. The seasons of love. Isabel Scheck starts with Winter, for me, the most brutal of the seasons because I am a child of Summer and as such I love the sun. But Winter has its moments, and Isabel has captured the best of them. She then moves to Summer, my month, and there is a swift transition in mood and images. My Dreamland is told from the point of view of a woman. Obviously, a woman in love. But I found it easy to insert myself into those moments as I recalled those exact feelings when I was in love. When the emotions are strong and pure, they defy gender. They are only about happiness and contentment. I loved this book because it reminded me of when I was happy and content. It reminded me of when I was in love.
