New America 2042 is a dystopian sci-fi thriller written by Brett Krausse. In the not-so-distant future, the world is governed by the Co-Op, an algorithm fulfilling the needs of the general public following the ideals of neosocialism. Henry Smith and cofounder Derwyn Davis have successfully developed the AI Isaac, designed for defensive purposes. However, when the head representative of the Co-Op, King, acquires control of Isaac to seek control of the assets of Steenankamp's mines, Henry and Derwyn discover a larger conspiracy, entangling themselves in an insidious war. After socialite Claire Avatar warns Henry of the dangers posed by King, Henry and Derwyn soon discover that the Co-Op is actually an oligarchy. As Henry and Derwyn make their moves alongside Claire Avatar, can they notify the public about the dangers posed by the Co-Op?

An enthralling dystopian sci-fi novel that makes you introspect, New America 2042 is a wild rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish. Author Brett Krausse deftly portrays various factions within a pulsating narrative that keeps your eyes glued to the pages until the end. Krausse's worldbuilding is impressive and on par with the best of worldbuilders. He crafts a believable dystopian world with multiple parallels to the real world. The characters are well-developed, with distinct personalities that make them thoroughly memorable to read. Krausse also delves into a lot of political commentaries, and I can see how it will captivate a section of readers. If you love dystopian science fiction, New America 2042 is the book for you.
