No Surrender: An A.I. Thriller is the third novel in the No Freedom series by Inge-Lise Goss. Paislee is almost successful. Now that Pellegrin wants Paislee to be his wife, Paislee’s path ahead is much easier. Pellegrin has no idea that Paislee is working with the rebels, and she is, in fact, trying to get her hands on the information that will bring him and The Institute down once and for all. However, things are not as easy as they once were. Paislee is confined to Pellegrin’s house, and she needs to do whatever she can to gain his complete trust. It should be easy, but it isn’t. Paislee has to stay safe, not get distracted, and get the job done as soon as possible. The spies of The Institute are slowly catching up, and Paislee is already running on borrowed time. Can she fulfill her task before it is too late? Or will the rebels finally bring The Institute down?

Right in my comfort zone, No Surrender is the kind of dystopian novel that I love to bits. I literally devoured the story in just a few hours, and even though my eyes were tired, it was worth it. Author Inge-Lise Goss has that effect on readers. The narrative is powerful, captivating, and invigorating. I was looking for more clues, some hidden tips that Ms. Goss left for readers to find. The tension rose as the story progressed, and I loved how Paislee was just as desperate as readers to figure out what would happen next. The twists and turns are not only entertaining but also very hard to guess. The action is adrenaline-inducing, the pace is perfect for the story, and Paislee’s progress and development are on point. No Surrender has everything you could wish for: a powerful protagonist, an inviting story, and suspense that never lets you down. What more can a reader want?

No Surrender: An A.I. Thriller is a work of fiction in the dystopian genre and serves as the third installment in the No Freedom series. It is suitable for the general reading audience and was penned by author Ingle-Lise Goss. The book continues the story of Paislee as she and her rebel allies conceive a new plan to destroy The Institute by having her marry the android Pellegrin who ranks highly within The Institute’s command structure. With most rebels unaware that she is a double agent and with Pellegrin’s suspicions growing by the day, Paislee is forced to prove herself by endangering her own people.

This was an excellent and suspenseful thriller that had me hooked on the cat and mouse dynamics of Pellegrin and Paislee’s relationship. There is a wonderful irony in that Pellegrin’s characterization stops him from descending into the level of villainy that Paislee had assumed going in, a testament to the considered development and nuanced detail that Ingle-Lise Goss presents throughout the book. The relationship itself is sublimely presented with both sides needing the other to further their goals but never being able to trust or let their guard down too far. The dance they do to keep up appearances with each other and the world forms a beautiful core around which the rest of the story is told. No Surrender never lets any of the exciting conceptual ideas go to waste and keeps the stakes high on a rollercoaster journey of twists and turns. A worthy conclusion to the series, and a must-read.

No Surrender by Inge-Lise Goss is a glimpse into a dystopian future where androids are a major part of our society. This is a fractured world recovering from war, where intolerance of autocratic rule is met with brutality, leading to a swelling resistance in the general population. In this maelstrom of discontent, we find Paislee, a young woman who is given an assignment of critical importance to the rebel cause; a mission of ultimate sacrifice and great peril to her future and that of humanity. The one certainty for Paislee is that she will be forever changed by this experience, and the very end of this adventure will inspire all of us to look at our pale blue dot from a much altered perspective.

Inge-Lise Goss has conveyed beautifully the concept of No Surrender in her words, bringing out a whole atmosphere of computerized coexistence where machines struggle to emulate human emotions. In reading this, one can almost take on the persona of the android and in doing so, it quickly becomes evident that our greatest weaknesses are also our greatest strengths. Only humans have the natural capacity for imagination and the application of this in creative and inspiring ways; the androids are great vessels for acquiring the facts of our existence but struggle greatly in creating their own path to the future. This is the great strength of No Surrender. Without being too obvious, it paints a clear image of the gulf between the machine and the human. Pellegrin becomes the villain we all despise, and yet in some ways we can’t help having some level of attachment to this intelligent being struggling to find his place in an uncertain universe.

Paislee is still committed to taking down The Institute, an organization of heartless AI determined to take over the human race. She remains part of the rebel movement and has taken on perhaps the most difficult task of the rebellion: to marry Pellegrin, her once-AI who now dominates her, and has proposed in an attempt to seal his own leadership with The Institute. Despite her misgivings, she takes on the assignment to help the rebel cause to end human enslavement to the AI. Unfortunately, the AI is clever, and Pellegrin suspects that Paislee isn’t as devoted as she pretends to be. Can she pass his test and make it to the grand plan for their wedding day? No Surrender: An A.I. Thriller by Inge-Lise Goss is the exciting final book in the No Freedom series.

I enjoyed the continuation of Paislee’s tale and was thrilled to read this final installment of the series. It’s full of tension and suspense as Paislee walks the fine line between helping her uncle advance the rebel cause, and playing the part of a loving, devoted fiancée to a monster. She cleverly maneuvers around many traps, only to find more laid out, and somehow manages to use her wits to outmaneuver the worst attempts by both sides to compromise her. It takes not only skill but the help of her rebel friends to work her way through endless traps from both sides testing her loyalty. A thrilling and exciting read that I highly recommend. Sci-fi and suspense readers will love this series!

No Surrender by Inge-Lise Goss is the third book in the No Freedom A.I. thriller series. Paislee is still looking to eliminate The Institute, to stop their inhumane acts and stop them from killing anyone else. She’s still a rebel but few people know that and to help them, she accepts a marriage proposal from Pellegrin, the humanoid android who heads up west coast operations. She then searches his office for any information she can use against The Institute. Her secret life as a rebel puts her at risk of kidnap or of her identity being exposed by spies in the rebel ranks. Pellegrin isn’t convinced that Paislee really wants to be his wife so he sets her some tests – she must pass these to prove her commitment and allegiance but she must face the captured rebels. Will she pass the tests without losing her life? Can the rebels really bring The Institute to its knees or will the androids win out and forever control the human race?

No Surrender by Inge-Lise Goss is an intriguing story but, before you read it, I suggest you read the first two books in the series to fully grasp what it’s all about. This is a fast-paced novel with plenty of action and more twists and turns than you could possibly imagine. The plot is unique and tight and Ms. Goss demonstrates an ability to get inside the head of an android, to understand how they think and act. The characters, both human and android, are skillfully developed, and you’ll find them easy to relate to and likable, although your relationship with Paislee may change a few times throughout the story as you won’t really know whose side she is on to start with. All in all, an enjoyable read but do read the whole series in order to understand it fully.
