Of Dreams and Tragedies by D.A. Lawson is a story of life, tragedy and connections. As children, Michael Moriority and Allyson White lived worlds apart. To the outside world, Michael had a great life. Michael had his Papaw Dan, his parents, and a girl that he came to cherish and value, his neighbor who became his girlfriend, Carlie Martin. Allyson and her oldest sister, Becca, lived in a world of the unknown. Without a mother to protect them, their father would go on drunken binges where the girls never knew from one day to the next when their father would come home. There were times that he never came home alone or he would go into a drunken rage and attack the girls. Then tragedy struck the lives of both Michael and Allyson in an intimate way that changed their lives forever. One day, by chance, Michael and Allyson crossed paths again. Will their different childhood upbringings along with their tragic past affect their future?

I thought that Of Dreams and Tragedies by D.A. Lawson was such a beautifully written story because it shows that everyone's life is a different journey. Just like two people can read the same paragraph and come away with a different meaning, it's the same with life experiences. We each handle situations differently from each other. Life can cause one person to carry a torch of anger, while another may experience bouts of depression, and for others, they may exercise an element of forgiveness that allows healing to begin. Even though Of Dreams and Tragedies by D.A. Lawson has an essence of romance, it also displays a taste of how the past impacts our future. Of Dreams and Tragedies by D.A. Lawson is a story that you must add to your collection.
