Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe by Barry Robbins satirizes the 45th President of the United States, of whom the author is apparently not a fan. The ex-president has moved to Florida, but hasn’t changed a bit. Each chapter (Robbins calls them “episodes”) is essentially a short skit, complete with stage directions, that subtly ridicules “45.” Some episodes are “Who Needs Twitter,” “Vladimir,” and “Reinstatement.” One example from the book is how does the My Pillow guy know that the former president will be reinstated on Aug. 13? This is how: the expiration date on his Pepsodent toothpaste is that date and “Pepsodent” sounds like “president.” As the author notes, there is some profanity, although no more than one would expect in a work of this sort.

Be prepared to laugh out loud as you read this book. It’s downright hilarious, although supporters of a certain ex-president may not always think so. The author has a superb, quirky sense of humor. Think of the Far Side comics and you won’t be far from Barry Robbins’ type of comedy. Especially if you’re not a supporter of the former guy, combine your feelings with Robbins' wit and you’ll find his book uproariously funny. The Epilogue is one of the most creative parts of the book. It explains what will happen, in the writer’s gifted mind, to the most prominent associates of the former president. This book would be excellent to have on your nightstand—you’ll laugh yourself to sleep. I highly recommend Barry Robbins’ Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe.

Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe by Barry Robbins is a political satire. This is the sequel to the Oh Daddy Chronicles. They use skit-like episodes (think SNL) to talk about the 45th President Donald John Trump. They mostly use the White House and Mar-A-Lago for the scenery. Barry Robbins has skits about things like the Coronavirus and the alleged voter fraud and has some imaginary scenes like a pageant. Lots of fun and mayhem to show what it is like behind the scenes of the Presidency.

I thought that Oh Daddy Chronicles 2 was hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing. I loved that it was a sequel, but you did not have to read the first book in order to understand it, although it even had scenes from the first one, just in case. But I highly recommend reading the first book too. I should warn you there are a few F-bombs. I loved how Barry Robbins used editor notes on a scene, in case someone did not know what it was about. He also did a great job describing the scenes. My favorite skit was the one that used Abbott and Costello’s Who’s on First; it was hilarious and very cleverly done. I liked that he used the dialogue of the character, like Melania’s broken English. If you like Saturday Night Live’s type of humor, then I highly recommend this book. Just make sure you are not reading in public because you will be laughing out loud. I am hoping there will be a third book.

The second installment of Oh Daddy Chronicles, Return of Covfefe, is yet another hilarious political satire by Barry Robbins. The 45th president of the United States, Citizen Trump (you know, the guy currently banned from Twitter), returns to Mar-a-Lago after an unconventional stint at the White House. As Citizen Trump comes to terms with his loss in the election, he finds himself surrounded by his usual lackeys who enable his every minor whim. After embarrassing himself spectacularly in a cognitive test, he organizes "I Love Citizen Trump" beauty pageants, the prize of which is a dinner date with the most eligible bachelor, Lindsey Graham, for the unfortunate winner. Throughout his tenure as Citizen Trump, he keeps himself busy with an inordinate number of activities. Meanwhile, Melania and Ivanka find love at last.

If Sir Terry Pratchett had written a political satire, it would have been Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe. Author Barry Robbins' amalgamation of short skits lampoons the former President of the United States in a series of exceedingly outrageous events. The book is an absolute riot to read. However, the alarming aspect of the author's portrayal of Trump is that the character is too close to the real-life version. Sometimes, it's difficult to distinguish between satire and actual events considering the chaotic reign of the former US President. I gobbled it up in one sitting as I just couldn't put it down. If you're a fan of well-written satire, I highly recommend Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe.
