On the Wallaby Track: Essential Australian Words and Phrases (Woman Alone Series Book 1) by Laine Cunningham is an entertaining guide that gives some interesting information about Australia, its culture, the English language spoken with an Aussie slang, and the essence of this beautiful country Down Under. The author also gives information on how to survive, eat, and sleep in this fascinating place on your travels there. It takes around six months to figure out the language and the accent and for most people who do not have time for that, this book comes in handy as a guide to learn essential Australian words and phrases that will help them to survive in the country initially when they arrive and start exploring.

The fact that the author spent six months in Australia before writing this book makes it real and her idea of listing essential Australian words and phrases while living there is useful and helpful to all those who are considering traveling to Australia or have just moved there and are struggling with the Aussie slang. This book helps readers to avoid linguistic confusion while living in Australia and makes them more comfortable while conversing with the locals. The topic is fresh and unique and it is not only a good read for those planning to travel to Australia but also for readers who love the English language and are interested to learn more about its usage in different countries. I cannot wait to read the next book about the author's adventures in the Outback.
